Building Awareness of an "Under the Radar" Health Issue

Walking impairment can be one of the most challenging symptoms of multiple sclerosis (MS), but research showed the impact of mobility loss was not widely understood by both clinicians and patients. Our client approached us for a strategy to build awareness of the impact of walking impairment among MS patients as well as HCPs. Our plan included execution of two national surveys on the impact of walking impairment in MS, clinician roundtable meetings, white papers, aggressive media outreach and a consumer campaign with singer/songwriter Kristie Salerno Kent who faced challenges with walking impairment as a result of MS, including development and promotion of her personal memoir and speaking opportunities across the U.S.

The consumer program was recognized by NYU PR League's Great Campaign Series, and Kristie was honored at the 18th Annual Books for a Better Life Awards.
